Process
The Fern River Process has two divisions: an instructional design process for training development and a website and software development process. The experts at Fern River will develop a proposal outlining the exact details of the appropriate process as it applies to you your project. You will receive a step-by-step report with explanations in plain English that includes milestones and timelines so that you always know what to expect. Instructional Design ProcessThe real goal of any training endeavor is the successful transfer and application of knowledge in the workplace. Our approach to instructional design incorporates the core principles of a standard, repeatable process and adult experiential learning to achieve that knowledge transfer in a cost effective way. We achieve that through a five phase development process:
Website and Software Development ProcessThe Fern River team uses a website and content development lifecycle model that provides a systematic approach to the design, development, and implementation of a successful website. The model includes seven distinct phases. However, each project will receive a customized version of these phases which will depend on the size and scope of the project. For example, a 10 page informational website will probably not need as much detailed documentation in Phase 7 as a 300 page website with relational databases that display data-generated content. But, no matter the size, all websites do go through the entire process. More complicated sites will require more detail. We achieve that through an eight phase development process:
